uTwitbook finds and recommends Twitter users. As usual - library, librarian and cilip searches. It has a very impressive set of advanced search options

Advanced Twitter Search - the original. Here we go with library, librarian and cilip.

Hashtags. It allows you to search for specific hashtags, such as #librarian or #cilip and shows you a trend by time line, with user, message and when.

Icerocket has a Twitter option and it's worth taking a look at. I like it a lot. Recent tweets for library, librarian, and cilip.

Locafollow finds people in specific subject areas in particular locations.

Monitter is a real time twitter search tool that enables you to monitor a set of keywords on twitter. It also allows you to narrow the search to a particular geographic location, allowing you to find out what’s going onin a particular part of the world.

Tweetag sends you a free email alert when a keyword appears in Twitter lists of your choice. I tried my usual searches, but it wasn't playing, so I'm not overly confident about it.

TweetMeme is a service which aggregates all the popular links on Twitter to determine which links are popular. TweetMeme categorises these links into Categories, Subcategories and Channels, making it easy to filter out the noise to find what you're interested in.

Tweetzi is a simple realtime stream search engine. Try out library, librarian and cilip.

Twendz provides realtime trending data on terms. Includes subtopics and a word cloud as well as tweets themselves. Try out library, librarian, cilip.

Twitaholic tracks popular users. Gives joining dates, rankings and numbers of followers.

Twitority for authority based twitter search. Search and filter by authority (any, little, lot), but I have no idea how they work out the 'authority' aspect. Searches for library, librarian, cilip.

Twitrratr Discover what people are really saying on Twitter. With Twitrratr you can distinguish negative from positive tweets surrounding a brand, product, person or topic. Try out library, librarian, cilip Not entirely sure on it's currency though, so use with caution.

Twitterpowersearch has pics, trends, stream. NSFW images however, so maybe best avoided. However, you can do multiple searches, with results in seperate columns, which I've not seen elsewhere. If you're still interested though, try out library, librarian and cilip.

Twopular is a trends on Twitter aggregator, for now, 2 hours, 8 hours, day, week, month, year ago. It doesn't have a search option, but makes up for it with visual graphs, timelines, and top retweeted.

Twitterfall is a realtime falling visual listing of tweets mentioning your search term. Great for use at conferences.

Twitter Stream Graphs shows you a visual graph for particular terms over time. Attractive, but not sure of the value of it, to be honest, other than rising and falling interest in specific aspects of a term.

Twitter Search Engines - Images

PicFog delivers relevant results Using twitter and the connecting image upload services, PicFog shows pictures from twitter as they're posted, in real time. You don't even need a twitter account to enjoy the benefits - and you can filter by any keyword, location or twitter user. Current images of library, librarian.

TwitPicGrid is a grid of images as they are posted to Twitter. May include some NSFW images. Nice features though and worth taking a look at.

Bettween allows users to easily track and share conversations from Twitter. Limited to about 7 days.

Firstfollower Wanna know who your first follower was? This broke and didn't tell me.

Follower Wonk: compare Twitter users Follower Wonk is a fun, free app that shows you shared and unique friends and followers of different Twitter users.

Happytweets is a measuring stick for how positive, or happy, a particular Tweep is

Justunfollow Unfollow Twitter users who do not follow you!

Twitter sleeping times Specify the Twitter username of the person whose sleeping pattern you want to know and hit Enter. Our algorithm will determine the approximate sleeping schedule based on the time when he or she stays least active on Twitter.

TweetStalk The simple way to stalk Twitter users without having to follow them. It's a Firefox add on that lets you follow someone via RSS feed.

Twiangulate Choose 2 or 3 people that you follow, and see who they follow in combination. Really interesting way to locate new people to follow.

Twitalyzer allows you to search on a Twitter user and find out lots of interesting thing about them. I tried me, and it was reasonably accurate, but not that high on the wow factor.

Twtify - Get Twitter Followers Type in your keyword, authenticate your account, and get a list of people to follow.

The ReTweetability Index measures and ranks Twitter users based on the infectious power of their tweets. This number accounts for number of followers and Tweets overall, so it is a true indicator of infectiousness.

SocialOomph Allows you to do a whole bunch of stuff with your Twitter account. Commercial version lets you do stuff with Facebook too. Formerly TweetLater

Tweet Cloud is a service that lets you generate a cool looking cloud of the words your tweets mostly contain.

Tweepi is a simple utility for quickly following quality tweeples based on their activity patterns...

TweetPsych lists creates a psychological profile of any public Twitter account and compares it to the thousands already in the database. This identifies those traits that are used more or less frequently by the user analyzed. This is mine. Looks at positivity, leisure, past, self reference,  and several other criteria. Also tells you who thinks like you.

Tweetree puts your Twitter stream in a tree so you can see the posts people are replying to in context.

TweetStats This is a very good analyitics tool. How many tweets, how often, when, retweets, responses, tweet cloud, link into Wordle - excellent!

Twilitics; link shortening and tracking service Twilitics is analytics for Twitter, tracking the clicks on your URLs. Use this resource to shorten your long URL, and then keep a watch to see how many clicks you get.

Twimemachine - Easily browse through your old tweets. Use TwimeMachine to easily browse through your old tweets. Read what you said ages ago. Max 3200 tweets.

Twitoaster is a Twitter web application that threads and archives your conversations in real time, bringing you all the context and statistics you need to improve the way you communicate with your followers.

Tweetfilter is probably the most powerful filter you can find for your Twitter stream, unless you start decoding Twitter's API yourself. You can block phrases, retweets of certain users, particular web sites and services, and nearly anything else.
