Tumblr is pretty much a
link blog, but a very simple straightforward one from what I can see. Great as
a sort of scrapbook thing to alert friends and colleagues to what you've

Bookmarking - social bookmarking
NOTE: All of these sites do exactly the same thing - allow
people to bookmark content, share it with others, vote for the interesting
stuff, vote to bury the boring/spam stuff. Most will have a browser widget that
you can add to make the process easier.
Digg is a place for people to
discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online
destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on
by our users.
Instacomment is a
service allowing website owners to add an instant comment system to their
pages. Use it wherever you think comments would come in handy.
Link Extractor
:: Webmaster Toolkit. This is just brilliant. Give it a URL and it goes away
and collects all the URLs and displays them for you to do a cut and paste.
PrintWhatYouLike is a free web page
editor that gives you control of how web pages look when printed.
Smart Bookmarks
Bar :: Firefox Add-ons. This is nice. It allows you to get rid of all of the
text for links, and just keep the favicon instead. As a result you can get up
to 50 links on the bookmark line rather than the 14 or so you can with use of
words as well.
Texty: The Simplest CMS.
It allows you to create some text and then it gives you a bunch of code that
you can put where you want. If you then want to go back and change the text,
simply change it at Texty and this gets reflected in all the places you've
copied the code to.
WebWait - Benchmark Your
Website. This is great - whack in a URL and this'll tell you how long the page
takes to load. Great for web designers.
WebMynd. This is a
resource that allows you to see your entire history - every page you visit.
It's a Firefox add on.
Interclue makes your
browsing smarter, faster, more informative. Very much like the SNAP preview as
far as I can tell, though you have to d/l software to make it work

long URL's a lot smaller with dwarfURL's short URL service!. With this resource
you can see how many clicks your shorter URL has had.
is.gd URL Shortener. Does what it
says on the tin.
LinkBee is the medium
to archive and bookmark all your favourite links across the web and earn money
doing so
NSFW is a 'not safe for work'
URL shortener. Pop in the URL you want shortened, or really in this instance
made safer and it'll pop out a NSFW address.
Qurl | Making long urls
shorter!. Usual stuff, but this one allows you to track traffic of the URL and
offers the chance to host pictures.

Short. Remember when there was just TinyURL?
TinyURL. One of the first
services of this type. Simple, free, easy
thinfi Password protect a
short URL. That's pretty much what it does.
Pin in the map This
is a free service which lets you easily share maps of locations with your
friends via email or your website. Simply click on the map to mark a spot,
enter a bit of text if you want, and you get an easy link to the map to
share.

Feevy. Nice little
widgety thing - whack in your favourite blogs, they give you an HTML tag, you
add it to your blog and it'll display your friends blogs

have a bunch of free stuff there and a whole bunch of free widgets to make your
page a little livelier.
How
Much is Your Blog Worth? Apparently mine is worth $84,681.00. Is it? I
doubt it. Check to see what yours is worth though.

Coolest Gadgets On The Web. Add a bunch of funky widgets to your pages.
Online Ribbon
Generator Tool. I like this. It creates a lil' ribbon for the corner of a
webpage, and you can type in some text to draw attention to things.
SpringWidgets. Widget gallery, express
widgets you can download, develop them, all on this site.
SproutBuilder is a widget
creator sort of thing. No, I don't know what it is either.

System This is a nifty little utility, that allows you to put polls on your
website. No CGI scripting, no programming. Add some javascript and you're

ScrnShots: Share
your inspiration. From the website: it is the best way to take and share
screenshots of web and screen based design.
Skitch is
another of the screenshot capture programs. Capture part of a page, manipulate,
store, blog it.
Super
Screenshot!. Give it a URL and it'll grab a screenshot of the entire page,
top of the page and display it in various sizes.
