Start.com is Microsoft's attempt at a portal, although they strongly reject that notion. I quite like it - you can add in a bunch of stuff ala My Google - specific searches, news, weather, feed search and so on. When you run a search the results appear in a popup window, and it's very easy to tab between web, news and feeds. Nice, simple and easy to customise. It's worth spending a bit of time playing around with.
