BBC - Statistics about bbc.co.uk on 07/07/2005 is very interesting reading. Apparently at peak times during the day there were 40,000 page requests per second from News. (Yes, I did say 'per second') and total bandwidth reached 11.1 Gb per second. Amazing figures.
