If you're interested in words, and which information professional isn't, try WORDCOUNT. It lists the 86800 most popular words in english. The top ten are:
The, Of, And, To, A, In, That, It, Is, Was. 'Librarian' is the 8,222 most common word, with 'discarded' and 'urging' either side of it. That must mean something, surely?
