You might have heard about 'the semantic web'. If not, you soon will be. There's a good article at http://www.netcrucible.com/semantic.html which explains it in a little more detail. I've read it, and personally I think the whole thing is a total nightmare. I really don't see how it can work properly, and there are more holes in the theory than a sieve.
